FLASS attends QS Summit to foster partnerships across the sector

In an era where educational ideas continue to evolve rapidly, FLASS remains committed to fostering academic dialogue and building strong partnerships across the sector. To this end, Dr Bob Sun Fenghua, Assistant Dean (International Engagement), together with Dr Chris Tsang Yiu-fai from the Department of Science and Environmental Studies (SES) and Professor Ken Yung Kin-lam, Associate Vice President (Knowledge Transfer and Sustainability), Chair Professor of Biology and Neuroscience of SES, and Director of the University Research Facility in Human Behavioural Neuroscience, joined other EdUHK representatives at the “QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2025” hosted by Korea University from 4 to 6 November 2025.

The Summit brought together representatives from more than 20 countries and over 130 institutions, featuring more than 60 panel discussions that encouraged collaboration and knowledge exchange among leading universities in the region. It provided a valuable platform for dialogue on cutting-edge research and strengthened EdUHK’s position as a thought leader in educational innovation and technology-enhanced learning.

 

 

The summit offered an excellent platform for sharing best practices and innovative approaches to the challenges facing higher institutions in the region.

Over the three-day event, Dr Sun attended seminars to gain insights into the latest developments in the educational landscape, shaped by the rapid rise of AI and the growing emphasis on diversity.

EdUHK received the Research and Discovery – Performance Improvement Recognition Award at the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2025. Selected from a field of 1,526 universities, this prestigious accolade underscores the University’s excellence in advancing impactful research and driving continuous improvement in academic performance across disciplines.

During the Summit, Professor Lim Cher-ping, Chair Professor of Learning Technologies and Innovation and Co-Director of the Global Institute for Emerging Technologies, delivered an inspirational talk on “Leveraging Emerging Technologies for Enhancing Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education”. His presentation explored innovative strategies for integrating digital tools and AI-driven approaches to make education more accessible and equitable, aligning with EdUHK’s vision of promoting educational excellence for all learners.

EdUHK ranked 152nd out of 1,526 higher education institutions in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026, rising 60 places from the previous year and placing the University in the top 10% across the region. The rankings highlight EdUHK’s strong performance across key indicators, reflecting the University’s sustained commitment to excellence in teaching, research and global engagement.
